About Africareporter.NET

Hello, I am Arjen Westra and I am from Dutch origin. I have a background as a media editor. In the past 16 years, I have been working as a journalist of which 10 years in Africa, reporting about different subjects for radio and print media.

Next to my freelance journalism, I have an extensive experience as tourguide in East- and Southern Africa and I am about to finish my third guidebook on Africa (I did writing and photography). All in Dutch.

I spend roughly eight months of the year on the road to collect stories. My next challenge is film. Preparing two documentaries at the moment.
